Benefits of a Healthy Lifestyle

According to FoundationForPN, living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases

and long-term illnesses .Feeling good about yourself and taking care of your health are important

for your self-esteem and self-image. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing what is right for your

body. A healthy lifestyle includes a balanced diet, regular exercise and it's important to get

plenty of rest. This essay will inform you and others more about the main benefits of a healthy

lifestyle. The benefits of health are known to prevent many chronic diseases such as heart

disease, hypertension as well as diabetes.

One benefit of living a healthy lifestyle is having the decreased risk of diseases, which is

quite common. According to Proactive Lifestyle, disease in the body occurs when it’s stressed,

nutritionally imbalanced, and/or neglected of self-care. Oftentimes, these occur simultaneously.

To bring the body back into a state of balance, it’s essential we begin to adopt more sustainable

behaviors. These behaviors are by no means difficult, they’re just different than the ones you

currently subscribe to. Heart disease, for example, is the leading cause of death in the United

States. It is also a major cause of disability. According to the MedlinePlus Organization website

, there are many things that can raise your risk for heart disease. They are called risk factors.

Some of them you cannot control, but there are many that you can control.Factors that contribute

to the lowering of your risk of heart disease are as follows:Controlling your blood pressure,

staying at a healthy weight, keeping your cholesterol and triglyceride levels under control and

eating a healthy diet.

3
According to the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, High blood pressure is also

known as hypertension. Hypertension is blood pressure that is higher than normal and can lead to

death or a critical illness without a healthy lifestyle. Keeping yourself fit and up to standard this

can give you a less chance of getting or developing this disease .The bottom number is the

diastolic blood pressure, which measures the pressure on your blood vessels between beats when

your heart is relaxing. For example A blood pressure of 110/70 is within the normal range, but a

blood pressure of 135/85 is stage 1 (mild) of hypertension. As stated above, hypertension is

more dangerous but this is where keeping yourself fit and up to date is important and has a lot to

do with a healthy lifestyle .

According to the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, diabetes is a chronic (long

lasting) health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. Having diabetes can

decrease the amount of insulin your body usually makes and without enough insulin the cells

will stop responding to insulin. Then this can lead to too much body sugar staying in the

bloodstream and with this act it can lead to serious health problems. However this can be

avoided by a healthy diet and a daily exercise routine. For Example a athlete male would have a

less chance of having diabetes because he has a better metabolism . Therefore as stated above

diabetes has many more serious health problems than you could ever imagine, but with a healthy

lifestyle this can be avoided.

Health benefits are the prevention measures used for many chronic diseases. To sum this

up, I believe that the major cause of disability and natural deaths are from not maintaining one’s

lifestyle of being healthy. Being nutritionally imbalanced, stressed or neglected of self- care can

lead to such unfortunate occurrences. Health concerns differ with gender, as a male may have the

4
opposite outcome from a female. It is time to take a look at the way you’re living and treating

your body. Take charge of your life, and switch to healthy habits while there is still time.

Akio’s Reflections

Reflection1
In this essay writing I’ve learned a bountiful amount of tips to help my writing

techniques. Before writing this essay I always thought of myself as a fairly good writer. In this

essay I have learned how to formulate and structure my sentences much better than usual. Not

only that, it also increases my summarizing skills. The one thing I think I lacked was my

vocabulary skills, but this essay helped me to improve that much more than usual. Last but not

least this easy writing was so beneficial that when I finished writing it, it was 100 times better

than how I usually construct an essay.

Reflection2

The challenges I had with this essay while formulating was very burdensome, not to

mention the other difficulties that occurred while doing this assignment . For one, there were

times while I was researching and I would have seen some words that I'm unfamiliar with and

therefore it took time to know and use the word properly. There were moments when there would

have been a power outage and therefore the assignment would have to be put on pause, until

further notice. Not only that it was a group work and this even made it a little bit harder than

usual, cause as known essay writing is usually done individually so I wasn’t too comfortable

with this either. However, next time with an assignment like this I will have a better experience

and relaxation while completing it.

Natalia’s Reflections

Reflection 1

Completing this essay was beneficial in quite a number of ways. To begin, it helped to

improve my research skills, which was definately needed, as it boosts my ego to perform at a

higher level. Secondly, it expanded my vocabulary, as well as it gave me the opportunity to be

more patient. Since high school, I always hated essay writing, typically because they were too

long and complicated. Though it is not something I enjoy doing, I had fun completing this

assignment as I learnt how to compromise and have an open mind for creativity. Thank you.

Reflection 2

The challenges I faced during this essay completion was a bit indescribable and

overwhelming. There were moments where we both had power cuts, which caused our meetings

held via Zoom to be postponed. Not to mention internet issues and lack of exposure to our

selected topic, which caused us to be under pressure when it came on to doing proper research. I,

for one, hate group work, and this assignment called for it, which made me nervous because of

past experiences with group projects, but nevertheless, we completed the assignment, and hope

to achieve an excellent outcome. Thank you.
