HEALTHY LIVING

Health is important because it is what we have placed in our body. We have to


maintain our physical fitness consistently and strictly. There are a lot of important
aspects in maintaining our health. Our health are judged based on our eating habits
and lifestyle habits. Physical fitness helps in keeping us healthy in the future and
protecting ourselves from diseases. Sedentary lifestyle is one of the most common
factors that lead to common and serious diseases. One should start a fitness routine
even small amount of exercise in daily schedule to improve your health level. Daily
exercises can positively affect one’s body.

Sedentary lifestyle or colloquially known as a couch potato is usually practised by


most of the people in both developed and developing country. Sitting activities such
as reading, viewing television and using computer do not involve vigorous physical
exercise or very little physical movement. Sedentary lifestyle can contribute to many
causes of death and according to a study, this lifestyle can even harm more to our
health compared to smoking. The risk of developing cancers will also increase if the
rate of activity of a person decreased. Long term inactivity can cause your bones to
lose their strength because they have not been challenged to support the structure of
your body. Inactive lifestyle causes bones to become brittle and weak and it is also
due to arthritis and osteoporosis. Sitting the whole day will reduce your hip flexors and
hamstrings, while back muscles that support spinal cords will become weak and stiff.
Other than that, sedentary lifestyle can also cause sleeping difficulties and insomnia.

Healthy lifestyle can be achieved by managing your weight. Reducing the weight
of just ten percent will reduce the risk of heart disease and other obesity-related
diseases. Obesity is the second major contributing factor for many childhood diseases
such as osteoporosis, sleep apnea, asthma, high blood pressure and lot more.

The benefits of healthy lifestyle is it can increase the longevity of a person.


People nowadays are too busy working until they ignore their own health and welfare.
Take care of yourself is the best way to ensure good health. With a healthy lifestyle,
you have more control over your own life. Healthy weight loss, eating and fitness
routines can make improvements in health and help control common diseases such
as hypertension, diabetes, stress and other.

Other than that, healthy lifestyle means having steady flow of stamina and
strength. This can reduce the risk of falling and fracture. Cardiovascular exercise can
strengthens the heart muscles and it can helps increase our heart’s efficiency.

There are some tips that can lead to healthy living. Eating healthy is a way of
healthy living. All humans have to eat food for growth and maintenance of a healthy
body. One should eat three meals a day, food consumption should consist of fruits,
vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk products, control portion sizes
and other. It is also encouraged to avoid eating a large meal before sleeping to avoid
weight gain and gastroesophaegeal reflux.

In addition, physical activities or exercises contribute to healthy lifestyle. Regular


exercise can help control weight gain and it can also help in loss of fat. Even a thirty
minutes of modest exercise such as walking can result in great health benefits. One
can start the progress of exercise slowly to avoid injury or excessive soreness.

Moreover, healthy living also involves mental health. Maintaining your mental
health also can lead to healthy living. One should get enough sleep daily that is seven
to nine hours per day for adults. Sleep required by a person is different based on their
age. One should also try to make some leisure time to do some things that interest
you every week. As an example, spend time fishing and watching drama. Having a
network of friends can also lead to happier and healthier lifestyle.

In conclusion, making small changes can have a large impact on your life. It is
important to start changing our life habits into a healthier one.
