There is no doubt that this global pandemic has affected people of all nation across
the world, mainly for persons who are in the work force and persons who are
studying.The Corona-virus know as Covid-19 have been a very problematic to the
academic part of life. Measures have been put into place to make up for the work that
persons may be missing form school which can come with challenges. Rinaldo
Walcott in his article he states or he believes that the academic has found them selves
in a crisis of their work in which is clearly the case because of the online classes
which can be affected easily by distraction.

This article is about how the global pandemic is affecting the academic
community .Walcott argues that academics are and may be finding it very difficult to
adapt to such crisis.Given just weeks to put in place such a radical shift in teaching,
many universities are wrestling with practical problems, including how to ensure that
poorer students with no laptop aren’t shut out, and how to examine students at their
kitchen table if closures stretch into exam season(The guardian,2020).As noted
Walcott also goes on to state that he believes that the measure taken by academic is
not effective enough to learn.

This virus is said to be one of the most heart breaking outbreak that has occurred.
Besides all of the negative and awful,upsetting parts the corona virus some persons
believes it is happening for a great cause. This global pandemic helps everyone to
press pause on the remote and take a great break from their busy day.It allows
father’s, mother’s even children to reconnect with their love ones and spend more
quality family time.(Bryn Nelson2020) states,skies are bluer, fewer cars are crashing,
crime is falling, and some other infectious diseases are fading from hospital
emergency departments.

Furthermore,Walcott argument is interpret over as a really interesting and challenging

one. He goes on to say that the corona virus can majorly impact students in many
ways and they might find it difficult to continue as though things have not been
absolutely turned upside down. Rinaldo view on believing that the academic aspect of
life is struggling and the online classes aren’t enough or as much effective i strongly
agree because students may not be fully attentive in class because there are usually or
can be distractions around than if you were in a class room. For instance you have a
online test but around your neighbourhood has party, that is about to the happen the
noise level from that party can be a great distraction which may result in you loosing
focus.

In addition the academic is going through a crisis because some lectures or teachers,
fears that disadvantaged students may be missing out. In cases like that because of
the fear some lectures may not want to send notes which will result with students not
learning anything new ,being lazy and forgetting what they may have learned.
Moreover access to no internet can be another major issue.In some cases person
may have Internet but it slow and if the he/she happens to have a test and the signal
getting lost can result into bad grades.

Another reason is not being able to have physical interaction with a teacher because
most people learn better that way.In fact the online work ,test and worksheets makes it
harder for persons to learn in the whole. This is because of the fact when there is test
person can easily cheat and by cheating you really be learning any thing of
importance

In summary this article, I find it quite interesting and according to Walcott the global
pandemic is becoming a crisis academic wise and I strongly agree with his view on
things toward such topic because like he stated faculty in universities and colleges
have argued that online teaching required not only special skills but an entirely
different approach to course material delivery .
