You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para

New York is a big city in the

United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is

located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.

Rome is a city located in italy. it
is the third most populated city in
europe with more than 2 million
in habitants. it is the city that
contains the most architectural
and historical buildings. this city
is visited by thousands of people
all the time. its climate is warm
and hot in summer and very cold
in winter. the city of Rome is
crossed by the rivers Tiber and
Aniene, and is the largest
coastal municipality. Rome is
characterized by tradicional
buildings which are an important
part of its monumental heritage,
there is also Saint Peter’s
Square designed between 1656
and 1667, the Sistine Chapel,
the house of the Vestals among
many other attractive places.
sydney is the largest and most
populated city in oceania and
Australia, with a population of
approximately 5 million, and is
situated in the south east of
australia, on the shores of the
spectacular sydney bay. it is also
bordered by the pacific ocean to
the east and has the blue
mountains to the west. The
climate of Sydney is subtropical
and tends to be humid in
summer and very cold in winter.
It has as an important building
the Sydney Opera House which
was designed in 1957 and has
five halls capable of hosting
different styles of interpretation
and is home to the Sydney
Opera House and the Sydney
Symphony. It also has the St.
Mary's Cathedral located on the
eastern edge of hide park, also
is the Australian museum, the
oldest in Australia. undoubtedly

Australia holds many wonderful
places.
Edinburgh is the capital and
largest city in scotland located
on the east coast on the banks
of the river forth, this city is
characterized by its international
festival of live performance the
largest in the world. it has a
population of around 500
thousand inhabitants. It is said
that millions of years ago the
magma of the volcanic activity in
this region forged a kind of
mountain on which today is
located the rock castle,
emblematic of this city. about the
climate, it is said that one day
you can feel the four seasons of
the year. amazing no!.
Edinburgh has a wealth of
museums and libraries many of
which are national institutions.
Dubai is one of the seven cities
that make up the United Arab
Emirates. it is located in the
persian gulf in the certain Arabia.
It’s population is around 3.5
million inhabitants. Dubai is
known as a city full of luxuries
and exectricities. Its climate is
tropical desert due to its location
in the tropics. The Burj Khalifa is
one of the largest skyscrapers
ever recorded, its height is 854
m. It’s construction began in
2004 and was inaugurated in
2010. In addition to this
architectural beauty, we add the
artificial islands of The World
and The Palm Islands, also the
luxury hotel in the form of sails
on a Burj Al Arab ship, among
other important buildings for this
Emirates.
