You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al

New York is a big city in the

New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
United States (North America). It
takes thousand of visitors every
year. The city has a population
of around 8 million people.
There is a lot to see and do in
New York. You can visit the
Central Park, the Metropolian
museum and Time’s Square. In
the picture you can see the
Statue of Liberty, a monumet
built between 1875 and 1986. It
is 93 meters tall. The statue is
located on Liberty Island in the
Hudson River.

Rome (Italy) – Saint Peter’s Square
Sydney (Australia) – The Sydney Opera designed

Rome is an Italian city of 2 856
133 inhabitants, capital of the
Lazio region and of Italy. It is the
most populous municipality in
Italy and the third most populous
city in the European Union. In
the photo we can see "saint
peter square", It was entirely
projected by Gian Lorenzo
Bernini between 1656 and 1667.
This work is considered the
explosion of the great Baroque
theater of the time as a
systematization of the power of
the Catholic Church.
Sydney is the largest and most
populous city in Australia and
Oceania, with a population in its
metropolitan area of close to
4.92 million, according to a 2015
estimate.6 It is the capital of the
state of New South Wales and
was the settlement of the first
British colony in Australia. The
photo is one of the most famous
and distinctive buildings of the
20th century. Declared a World
Heritage Site in 2007, it was
by the Danish
architect Jørn Utzon in 1957 and
opened on October 20, 1973 by
His Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,
in his role as Queen of Australia.
 It is the capital and a council of
Scotland (United Kingdom). It is
the second largest city in
Scotland after Glasgow.
Located on the east coast of
Scotland, on the banks of the
River Forth and in the City of
Edinburgh's local unitary
authority, it has been the capital
of Scotland since 1437 and the
seat of the Scottish government.
In the photo we see the
Edinburh Castle, it is an old
Edinburgh (Scotland) – Edinburgh Castle fortress built on a rock of
volcanic origin located in the
center of the city of Edinburgh. It
has been used for military
purposes since the 12th century,
being intended for civilian use
only in very recent times. It is
located at the top of Castle Rock
Street, one of the four streets
that make up the Royal Mile.
Dubai is one of the seven
emirates that make up the
United Arab Emirates, whose
capital is the city of the same
name. It is located on the coast
of the Persian Gulf, in the
Arabian desert, and limits the
south with the emirate of Abu
Dhabi, with that of Sharjah in the
northeast and, through the
exclave of Hatta, with the
Sultanate of Oman in the
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj southeast. and with the
Khalifa Emirates of Ajman to the west
and Ras al-Khaimah to the
 north. The burj khalifa is a
skyscraper located in Dubai. At
828 meters high, it is the tallest
structure in recorded history.
