CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT

INSTRUCTION FOR USE
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Concrete surface must be free of dirt, paint, oil grease,
lose materials and other contaminants. On oil
surfaces, wash with soap and water or acid etching
(10% muriatic acid or hydrochloric acid) is
recommended.
MIXING:
Pour Part A and Part B in a suitable mixing container.
Mix well until uniform color are obtained. Add
gradually Part C to the solution while stirring with a
slow speed electric mixer. Mix thoroughly until a
uniform mix has been achieved with no lumps.
Mix only full units of A+B+C components. Do not mix
smaller amounts. Do not add water.
METHOD:
After thorough blending of mixture has been done,
placed mixed CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT onto the
primed substrate and spread evenly to the required
thickness uniformly with a rubber or metal trowel or
spatula and immediately roll with a spike roller to
remove entrapped air obtain an even thickness layer.
Workability can be adjusted by varying slightly the
amount of Part C.
Do not use additional water, which would disturb the
surface finish and cause discolouration.
CLEAN UP
Clean all tools and application equipment with water
immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can
only be removed mechanically.
LIMITATIONS
If CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT is used as TMB
(Temporary Moisture Barrier), a layer of a minimum 2
mm thick must be applied.
Always ensure good ventilation when using CONFIX
EPOXY CEMENT in a confide space to remove
excess moisture.
Freshly applied CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT must be
protected from damp, condensation, and water for at
least 24 hours. Prevent premature drying by
CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT
protecting from strong wind and do not expose to
direct sunlight while fresh.
PACKAGING
CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT is supplied in 3
components consisting of base, hardener, and filler.
COVERAGE
Self-smoothing screed:
CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT ~1.64 kg/m2/mm
~3.28 kg/m2 for a 2mm thick application
Extended mortar mix
CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT ~ 1.80 kg/m2/mm
These figures are theoretical and do not allow for any
additional material due to surface porosity, surface
profile, variations in level or wastage, etc.
STORAGE AND HANDLING
Shelf Life
CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT has a shelf life of 1 year if
stored in a dry cool place unopened.
Storage Conditions
Store in a dry condition away from sources of heat
and naked flames. If stored at high temperatures the
shelf life will be reduced.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
If skin contact occurs, wash with soap and water. If
skin irritation persists, seek medical attention. If
material contacts the eyes, flush thoroughly with water
and get medical attention immediately. Do not take
internally. Keep material out of children’s reach
FIRE
CONFIX EPOXY CEMENT is non-flammable.
Disposal
Spillages of component products should be absorbed
into earth, sand or other inert material and transferred
to a suitable container. Disposal of such spillages
should be in accordance with local waste disposal
regulations.
