The tradition that the family hets together to eat meals is disappearing.

What are the

reason? What are the impacts?
That all members of the family gather to have meals is a rare sight in this modern era. In
my opinion, this trend is driven by several factors, and I would belive that family bonds
may be affected.
There are some cogent reasons as to the disappearance of family gatherings to enjoy
meals, the most evident of which is the fact that people nowadays seem to have a more
workload to meet more demands of them as well as their family. As education is
emphasized, schools may have to invest more in the facilities and teaching resources,
which means that fees would be far more substantial. As a result, parents may need to
work harder so that they could afford their children a good education. Also, people tend
to show off their wealth by purchasing luxurious items such as brand clothes and jewelry
or traveling farther afield. To do that, people may have to work extra hours to earn extra
money, therefore, they cannot allocate time to eat at home or have meals together with
their family.
However, this trend may have a direct impact on the family tie. Lack of quality time
would gape the generation gap, thereby triggering misunderstandings among family
members. As children need to go to school till the afternoon or till the evening if they
have extra classes and young adults go to work from morning to evening or even to
midnight if they work extra hours, they may feel exhausted when coming home.
Consequently, they would only want a bath and go to sleep without having dinner with
the old who stay at home alone all day and expect the young to come home so that they
have someone to talk to, which may make the elderly angry, and quarrels may ensue.
In conclusion, the disappearance of the tradition that family members gather to enjoy
meals may stem from various underlying factors, and it would have a direct impact on
family relationships.
