The problems young families are facing today

At the present time the number of opportunities for personal and

professional development is being constantly increased. Young
generation nowadays is characterized by immaturity, more freedom to
make decisions and strong ambitions. Thus it’s harder for the youth to
keep the balance between family life and work after they start their own
families. Understanding the key issue in the life of youth can help to
reveal other problems that modern families face today.

On the whole, a bigger number of households that have more leisure

facilities and money, allow the younger generation to stay dependent
longer. Those who start their families early, appear to be under more
stress then they used to because of new responsibilities and burnouts
on the workplaces.

Yet another challenge for modern youth is to satisfy their ambitions by

making a career and by becoming more independent of the parents. The
financial factor plays a big role here: about 47% of parents in the UK
think that over the past 2 years it’s become financially more difficult to
raise a family. This results in spending less time with a family and
relatives, especially if people live separately from their parents.

Speaking about the technological impact on modern family’s life, the

amount of time spent on the Internet by children is now 3 times greater
than it should be. Parents prefer their children to be quiet and obedient
while the former work or do chores. As we see now, the most actual
problem in modern society has its roots in the way modern family’s life is
being organized.

In fact, there are other ways to keep children busy, for example, by
involving them in extracurricular activities. Being keen on personal
growth, young parents want to bring up extremely talented and smart
children in order to facilitate their future personal identification.
Unfortunately, lots of parents go too far and deprive their children of their
free time and other fun. So the daily conversation between members of
the family reaches its minimum and such an important family activity as
having dinner together is getting less and less common.

All in all, modern family’s life and relationships between family circle are
being greatly influenced by technological, social, economic and cultural
changes. While some of them help to renew communication, others lead
to more tension, disagreements and lack of time to spend between the
nearest members of the family. Young parents need a lot of self
consciousness, patience and skills of balancing the aspects of life in
order to overcome negative consequences in their families and have
healthy relationships with their near/distance relations and people
around as well.
