Types of Entrepreneurship
Majority of the people think that entrepreneurship has just one meaning that is
The process of launching, developing and running a business venture along with its financial
risks is called entrepreneurship.
In simple terms, it is the willingness to launch a new business venture. It is very important for
the economic development of the expanding global marketplace. A person who undertakes
entrepreneurship is called an entrepreneur.
• Small Business Entrepreneurship are mostly barely profitable, but they make profits only to
make a living and support their families. Such businesses lack the scale to attract venture
capital and they are funded via friends/family or small business loans.
• Examples of small business entrepreneurship include hairdressers, grocery stores,
electricians, carpenters, plumbers, consultants, etc.
Scalable Startup Entrepreneurship
• Entrepreneurs start their company believing that their vision can change the
world. Their funding comes from the venture capitalist (Investors) and they hire
the best employees.
• It is started with large investments and also have high risk
• Examples of scalable startup entrepreneurship include Facebook, Instagram,
Online shopping for electronics, etc.
Large Company Entrepreneurship
• Large Company Entrepreneurship can be defined as organizations that have a solid set of
life cycles. There is a solid involvement of sustaining innovation providing new sort of
products. It includes customization in customer tastes as well as dealing with new
competitors. In simple language, it means the creation of new business within the present
organization.
• Large companies through sustaining innovation offering new products that are variant
around the core products
• New products are developed in order to meet with changing customer needs and advanced
technology
• This can be done by partnering with or buying innovative companies
• Examples of large company entrepreneurship include Google, Microsoft, Samsung, etc.
Social Entrepreneurship
• Social entrepreneurship can be defined as a way of doing business for identifying social
issues in society. The main motive behind this concept is doing research for defining a
certain social problem. This type of entrepreneurship assists in making a social change by
applying a particular set of processes, operations, and principles.
• In addition to that, it is also ideal for creating research so that a certain social problem get
identified followed by using the right approach for solving it. Social ventures are organized,
developed, and managed by social entrepreneurs.
• It is the type where entrepreneur create product and services to solve social needs and
problems.
• Their only goal is to make the world a better place or not to make profits

Intrapreneurship
• “A person within a large corporation who takes direct responsibility for turning an idea into
a profitable finished product through assertive risk-taking and innovation”.
Intrapreneurship is also known as Corporate Entrepreneurship, where formal structures for
promoting intrapreneurship lead to greater possibility of profitability and growth.
• It is the practice of entrepreneurship by an employee in an established organization to
convert a lucrative idea in to a business opportunity. Intrapreneurs can be either the
employees or even leaders in an organization riding high on self-motivation, creativity, and
innovation while assuming risk without being asked to do so.
• Those who take hands on responsibility for creating innovation of any kind without being
asked to do so
Technopreneurship
• Ecopreneurs are entrepreneurs whose business efforts are not only driven by profit, but
also by a concern for the environment. Ecopreneurship, also known as environmental
entrepreneurship
Agripreneurship
• Agriculture sector plays a formidable role in the sustainable growth and development of
economy. Developing entrepreneurship in agricultural sector is known as agripreneurship.
Agripreneurship or agribusiness includes all operations involved in the manufacture and
distribution of farm supplies.
