P1.3) Determine the power factor of the entire circuit of shown below as seen by the source. Calculate the
average power delivered by the source

Answers: 0.9734 (leading), 125 W.

P1.4) For a load, Vrms 110 ∠85 V, Irms 0.4∠15, Determine:


(a) the complex and apparent powers, (b) the real and reactive powers, and
(c) the power factor and the load impedance.
Answer: (a) 44∠70 VA, 44 VA, (b) 15.05 W, 41.35 VAR, (c) 0.342 lagging, Z= 94.06+ j258.4 Ω.
P1.5) A sinusoidal source supplies 100 kVAR reactive power to load Z=250∠-75 Ω.
Determine: (a) the power factor, (b) the apparent power delivered to the load, and (c) the rms voltage across the
load.
Answer: (a) 0.2588 leading, (b) 103.53 kVA, (c) 5.087 kV.
