Average Power for Nonperiodic Functions
 One practical example of a nonperiodic power
function for which an average power value is
desired is the power output of a radio telescope
directed toward a “radio star.” Another is the sum
of a number of periodic functions, each function
having a different period, such that no greater
common period can be found for the
combination. For example, the current
 i(t) = sin t + sinπt

Average Power for Nonperiodic Functions
 If the sinusoidal wave has many components but
of the same frequency, add the components then
get the average power
 P=1/2(I^2)R

 If the Sinusoidal wave has many components and have

different frequency, then solve for the average power
power separately per component.
