I- THE SITUATION

The situation of this study is the poor performance of the students in Physical
Education, in which one of the MAPEH components during the second quarter of the school
year 2020-2021. The participants of this research were the twelve (12) students who failed
in Physical Education in Malagana National High School, Malagana, Claveria, Misamis
Oriental. These two sections have different schedules in MAPEH class.

II. INTERVENTION

To address the problem on the lack of retention and body coordination, the researcher
conducted a Remedial Individualized Instruction. Based on the voice of costumers and the
fishbone diagram, the students needed individualized instruction to fully understand the
concept. Remedial Individualized Instruction recognized the uniqueness of each student
learner and thus provides adequate tutorial guidance and other support services suited to
bring about a wholesome development in the person (mind, body and spirit).

The researcher, together with the identified twelve (12) student- respondents of Grade 8
Brilliant and Grade 8 Blissful, made an agreement with the consent of their parents (who
affix their signature to the letter request) to have a remedial class every 4:00 – 5:00 pm. To
identify the least mastered skills of the student- respondents, the researcher conducted a
thirty (30) –individual performance as there pretest. To analyze the pretest results the
researcher made a table containing the competencies, item distribution and the percentage
score of the correct responses. To take good performance of the students’ individual tutorial
is made by the teacher.

III. SUMMARY

After the intervention made by the teacher, all the twelve (12) students who failed in the
Physical Education subject passed by performing the different ballroom dancing which is
they performed well during the activity.
