How to Subtract 2 Digit Numbers


To know how many apples were left, we need to set up our problem by making a number
sentence.
 Step 1- Write the number in columns of ones and tens.

 Step 2- Subtract the minuend and the subtrahend in the column of ones place. Write
the difference below.
 Step 3- Subtract the minuend and the subtrahend in the column of tens place and write
the difference.
Our number sentence would look like the example below:
