Weather

General
Everybody can speak about the weather, because its an easy topic.
On weekdays I usually get up at half past six or a bit later.
After waking up I do morning exercises and I look out my window to check the weather.
I usually watch weather forecasts on TV or read the Hungarian Weather Service website while I’m having a
breakfast.
I think weather forecasts are accurate most of time, but it happens that they forecast sunshine and it rains.
Sometimes I take a look at the local paper or listen to a radio.
People are interested in the weather forecasts, because they want to decide what to wear or how to go to work.
Sometimes they decide what to do in their free time on the basis of the weather forecast.
If the weather is rainy I take an umbrella or put on a raincoat.
When the weather is cold or it is snowing I put on warm clothes.
Hungary is situated [elhelyezkedő] in the temperate zone and it has a continental climate.
It means that we the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter
It also means that at the Lake Balaton you can swim in summer but you can skate on it in winter.

Spring
Spring is the nicest season because the snow is melting and nature wakes up.
It often rains but sometimes it’s quite warm and sunny.
When the sun shines trough the rain, you can see colorful rainbows.
Due to the melting snow and the rain the level of the rivers rises and water floods everything near the rivers.
There are sometimes thunderstorms.
The temperature is usually between 12-20C.
Summer
The summer is usually very hot and dry, but sometimes there are big storms with thunder and lighting, or even hail
then too.
They begin with strong wind, then there is thunder and lighting, and it becomes dark.
I’m afraid of a thunder and lighting.
Too dry summers are also bad for agriculture, because plants dry out.
The temperature is the highest in July and August, but doesn’t go above 35 degrees.
My favorite months are June, July and August.
I like summer very much because there’s no school.
My holiday starts in the summer and I have enough free time for entertainments (szórakozás).
We usually go to another country in July because it is the hottest month.
There are also many festivals in August in connection with harvest [betakarítás] and wine.
It’s true that weather is very hot and dry, but often I go to a swimming pool or to the beach.
Autumn
In autumn we have several rainy days.
The sky is usually cloudy so I don’t like autumns.
My school starts in September that is when my holiday is over.
There are big floods after big rains and snow falls.
The autumn is usually quite warm but later it gets cold and rainy.
Winter
Winter is usually rather cold but some winters are quite mild with no snow.
It is often foggy and the roads are slippery.
The coldest month is January.
If there is a blizzard transportation stops all over the country and schools close.
We like to play with snowballs in winter.
Too much rain or snow can cause problems in traffic and agriculture, and people may even lose their homes.

General
Due to global warming more and more natural disasters happen in the world. There are floods, earth quakes,
landslides, volcanic eruptions, forest and bush fires and tsunamis.
People’s body react to drastic weather changes, they can get headaches and some are sleepy when there’s a front.
Elderly people suffer from pains in their joints and bones.
Most of Hungary’s area is flat but there are some low mountains and hills.
We have some lakes and rivers, the most famous are Lake Balaton and the Danube.
I live in the centre of the capital, not far [messze] from the Budai mountains.

The spring like in Hungary is nather diangeable.

There are no hurricanes, but I have already heard of small to ruadoes.
