Question (1) CLO 3

a) Post Covid-19, business managers face a number of challenges to maintain the


economic viability and retention of staff, please elaborate at least three such challenges
in detail. (4 marks)
b) The new millennium imposes a number of challenges on business managers, who are
different from engineering managers and technology managers. Name a few such
challenges? (4 marks)
c) Elaborate four basic functions of engineering manager? (2 marks)

a) Quality is usually defined differently by design, production, marketing, after sale


service and end user perspective. Explain why. Which quality definition is most suitable
in your opinion, for the company to adopt? (4 marks)
b) Mission and value statements are indicative of the direction in which a company is
headed. What are typically included in the statements of mission and values of Well-
known companies in the world? Please elaborate the answer with examples. (4 marks)

a) Mr Abdullah is about to graduate from the Lahore Leads University bachelor’s Degree
in engineering with CGPA of about 3.8. He wants to find a good job that allows him to
best utilize his strengths and capabilities. His medium-term goal is to become a manager
in a manufacturing enterprise in 10 years. How should he plan to achieve this specific
goal? (6 marks)
b) Describe your understanding about Planning while justifing five key lessons learnt.

a) Some people argue that experts can produce more creative outcomes than Teams, They
view teamwork as a series of exercises in “sharing ignorance.” Do you agree or
disagree, and why? What can be done to advance the technical qualities of the team’s
outcomes? (3 marks)
b) A certain company makes two products: P1 and P2. Each P1 requires 10 kg of material
M and 6 kg of material N. Each P2 requires 6 kg of M and 6 kg of N. In the warehouse,
there are 700 kg of M and 540 kg of N available. The profit is $50 for each P1 and $40
for each P2. What mix of P1 and P2 products should the company make and sell in
order to maximize its total profit? (6 marks)

b) What are Most Common Reasons for Career Failures of engineering manager?

for conducting efficacious negotiations. (6 marks)
