I. CONTEXT AND RATIONALE

The final output and competency that the students must learn and

acquire as stipulated in the curriculum guide in Entrepreneurship are to deal

with the concepts, underlying principles, processes and implementation of a

business plan. The conduct of the activity would be best delivered by sharing

their ideas and competencies in business opportunities.

As one of the senior high school exits, entrepreneurship was taught to

orient the students to become a successful entrepreneur ready to face the

challenge of the country’s economic problem. Not all of the senior high school

graduates were given opportunities to continue college education though it is

already mandated for a free education access nor holding a national

certification given by the Technical Education and Skills Development

Authority because of lack of financial needs to pay for the assessment.

As best practices conducted every first semester of the school year,

teachers of New Cabalan Senior High School focuses on the orientation of

student’s business opportunities that they may learn during classes and what

factors affecting the implementation of their business proposals.

II. INNOVATION, INTERVENTION OR STRATEGY

The main purpose of this study is to know the best practices of the school

in the orientation of business opportunities as well as its effect to the students

after having their business implemented and showcased.

In response to global trend in secondary education, the adoption of the

introduction in entrepreneurship and innovation were discussed to the student


to help them develop innovative ideas, skills and transform these ideas into

profitable business plan. The students where formed into a group to make their

business plan according to their specialization. The students brainstorm their

ideas on what product or services they will establish through environmental

scanning and what problem of the consumer that they need to provide

solutions.

To determine the process of inquiries on the orientation of the business

implementation and its effect, the researcher provides an instrument to

understand the process on the implementation of their business plan.

Before the researcher gives the instrument to the respondents, the

researcher will make a cover letter addressed to the head of school and

teachers to assist the researcher in the distribution of the instrument.

In order to gather the data, the researcher will submit a letter of request

to the Schools Division Office addressed to the Superintendent. Upon

approval, the copy of the letter will be submitted to the School Head where

the research will be conducted. The questionnaires will be distributed to the

respondents to answer the research problem statement and retrieved

afterwards to be tallied, tabulated and processed for further

recommendation.

III. ACTION RESEARCH QUESTIONS

The purpose of this study is to know the business orientation among the

students of New Cabalan Senior High School and its effect after business

implementation.
Specifically, this study answers the following questions:

1. What are the qualification and business experience of the students prior to

entrepreneurship?

2. What are the business orientation of students in running a start-up business?

3. What are the level of awareness of the student in entrepreneurship in regards

with self-employment concept as a career option?

4. What are the personal qualities of students relevant to entrepreneurship?

5. What are the factors affecting students in the implementation of their

business proposals?

IV. ACTION RESEARCH METHOD

A quantitative survey type of research will be utilized in this study. To

acquire information and data, the survey questionnaires will be made to

generate information towards business orientation and its effect to the

students of New Cabalan Senior High School. Afterwards, the descriptive

statistics will be used in analyzing and interpreting the data.

The sampling method to be used in this study will be purposive sampling

because it will cover all the students who have characteristics needed in the

study. Therefore, the students who are enrolled in Entrepreneurship are all

included in the study.
