METHOD OF STATEMENT FOR ELECTRICAL WORK (Power Sockets)

Introduction:
This method of statement for electrical work for the gypsum partition offices work shall help
you understand the requirements before and during the cables and wire pulling process.
Below is the list of equipment / Tools required for installation of cables and wires as per project
requirement:

 Box Spanner set
 Bending spring
 Pipe Wrench
 Drilling Machine
 Crimping tool
 Screw Driver
 Pulling spring
 Hammer
 Common Tools.

Pre Installation procedure for cables and wires:


 Ensuring RFI/Contract drawings and electrical method statement are approved and
available to the contractor.
 Prior to the installation of wires in any area, cable ladders or any containment system
will be inspected.
 Checking the existing ladders/trays are free from any sharp edges and have sufficient
space for installing the cables.
 Ensuring that existing ladders/trays are provided with purpose made bends to
accommodate the minimum bending radius of the cable. This is to ensure that cable is
not given undue stress.

Wire Pulling Method:


 Making sure that all conduits and boxes in the gypsum both ends are free from
damages and blockages etc before installation.
 Blockage shall be checked by inserting the draw wire and checking that it reaches to
the other end without any disturbance.
 Once the conduit is not blocked, the wires shall be pulled using the draw wire while
ensuing no damages occurs while pulling.
 Pulling compound or lubricant shall be used for pulling the wires wherever required.
 While pulling the wires care will be taken to not insert pull tension greater than the
manufacture allowed limits.
 Joints in conductors shall be made using insulated terminal block complying with
requirements of this specification.
 At expansion joints adequate slack shall be left in the cable.
 Where three phase circuits comprising single – core cables are installed in trunking,
all cables of a shall be tied together at intervals not exceeding 200mm.

Engineeing Staff & Charge hand:
Site Engineer:
 To ensure that the works are carried out according to the contract specifications.
 To provide all necessary information and distribute responsibilities to his construction
team.
 To monitor the progress of work in relation with the work program and to report to the
project manager.
 To co-ordinate with the safety officer and to ensure that the works are carried out in
safe practicing methods.

Temporary works:

 Temporary works includes Scaffolding with working platforms, toe board etc.
 Double Volume areas to be staged by main contractor and certified by the main
contractor safety.

Health, safety and environment requirement:

 Workers will adhere to proper PPE during the work.


 All tools will be checked for safe performance and maintenance records
 Site housekeeping will be maintained properly. All construction debris shall be taken off
the work spot/floor and disposed through the chutes availed in every floor by main
contractor.
