Proposed Research Topic

Blue Economy and its Prosperity in SDG Development in Bangladesh.

Purpose

Bangladesh in a middle-income country through the sustainable use of marine resources. About three-
fourths of the earth is covered by the seas. It plays the vital role in two important functions from ancient
time known as the means of communication and the source of huge living and non-living natural
resources. At present, the countries are becoming very much concerned about their marine resources to
resolve many of the present and future challenges of their economies. Generally for Bangladesh, ocean
is contributing a significant role to its overall socio-economic progress through rising up the economic
activities across the country and especially to the coastal zone at southern part. This paper investigates
how much Bangladesh is capable to take of or handle the challenges to become a middle income
country through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, it has attempted with a closer-
look to find out the barriers or limitations of these activities from different angles if exist. I will show out
what types of economic resources and mineral resources there and how it will be used for the
contribution of our country’s economy. What will be the part in GDP and the SDG Goal .

Background

I will conduct my study within the Ministry of Science and Technology and Bangladesh Naval Achieve . I
will attend these four mornings for one week, and will stay on to collect their information for
approximately 08 hours during the one week period. My primary focus will be on their secondary data,
although I will also observe (and perhaps enquires about) interactions during their other source of data.

Scope

I will engage in participant-observation over one week period, from 20 January to 30 January for
approximately four hours per week. I will typically observe the morning meetings and stay for an hour
or so to observe their other work. On some days I may come at other times of the day for comparison. I
will not schedule structured interviews.
Theoretical framework

I will be guided the sectors of Blue economy zones and its probable sectors with exclusive data and I
also have a keen interest to work on “Swatch of No Ground “ which have flourish fisheries sectors and
Aquacultures, Renewable Maritime Energy etc model with various data

Method

1. Conduct a literature review on Blue Economy to Promote Bangladesh into a Middle-Income Country.

2. Undertake a situational analysis of the field notes and interview notes.

3. Write a research report that combines my understanding of the relevant theory and previous research
with the results of my empirical research.

4. Analyze the results.

Timetable:

Prepare proposal by 13 January

Complete literature review by 20 January

Complete fieldwork by 30 January

Complete analysis by 15 February

Give presentation on 20 February

Complete final report by 05 march

Limitations

Time constraints is the major limitation for this research paper. And there are many obstacle to access
the required data set for this paper.

Delimitations

I am not choosing primary data set. I will only focus on secondary data set from the Internet ,Naval
Achieve, some research papers. For analyzing those collected data I will use some methodology .
