I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: (CO-TA1)

A. analyse 20th century music.


B. identify different characteristics of twentieth century music; and
C. listens perceptively to selected 20th century music.

The students recall the previous knowledge.

2. Give me an example of 20th century music.
3. As a student how can you describe 20th century music?

C. Motivation (CO-TA3,CO-SLA6,CO-SLA9,CO-SLA10
Using the frayer model, the students will fill in all their known
information with regard to what is needed and asked in the model itself. They
may write as many as they can. Using a randomizer 3 students will share
their frayer model to their classmates 1 minute will be given to each students.

D. Discussion
1. Impressionism.
2. Characteristics of 20th century music.
E. Application
a. ACTIVITY (CO-TA3,CO-SLA7,CO-SLA8,CO-SLA9,CO-SLA10,CO-
SLA14,CO-SLA 9,11,12,13)

The students will be grouped into 5 groups after going to


designated chairs they will listen to “prelude to the afternoon of
faun “ by Claude Debussy one of the major composition that needs
to be interpreted in an impressionistic way they will answer the
following questions:
1. How do you find the flow of music?
2. Does it follow the regular pattern of beats like 1234,
1234, 1234 or 123,123 or is the pattern not present at
all?
3. How will you describe impressionism based on what you
have heard?
4. If you are going to compose a song, would you consider
adapting this genre of music?
They will be given 5 minutes to answer and 2 minutes to present
their output in front of the class.
The teacher adds further explanation about six basic skills in
volleyball, asks questions and gives comments if necessary.

F. Generalization
1. As a student how can you promote 20th century music?
2. For you why do we need to study this 20th century music? How can we
apply it in our lives?

H. Motivation
The students will be grouped into 2 groups .they will listen to some
music afterwards they will write all the things they have observed while
listening to the music they are given 3 minutes to list it all down in a manila
paper, they will pick a presentor and present their works in front of the class.
Each presentor is given 2 minutes to present.

I. Discussion
1. The learners will be group into 3 groups and will make either
concept map report, one act play or make a composition they will
be given 5 minutes to prepare and practice .Maximum of 2 minutes
to present.
J. Application

1. Using a randomizer 5 students will be called and summarize the


main point of the presentation of the groups.
