- Some Further Points (as per the Update 5 6 2020):

Extra cleaning remains in place throughout the College

All students will be following the day-to-day timetable that was in place preceding our Remote
Teaching and Learning Program. This will be reflected on Compass.

As we are unable to socially distance in change rooms, students who have a timetabled physical
activity class on the day are permitted to wear their sport uniform for the entire day. This is the only
exception to the College’s Uniform policy.

After the first two weeks of face to face teaching with VCE students, we have reviewed the situation
with locker bays - locker bays will now be open for student use as of 9 6 2020. Oversight will be
provided in terms of students accessing locker bays.

Given locker bays will be opened from Tu 9 6 2020, mobile phones are not allowed to be carried by
students during school hours.

The canteen will continue to be in operation (please avoid cash where possible)

Social distancing requirements remain in place

Students will need to provide their own water bottles - drinking fountains will be inaccessible (taps
provided on a needs basis to students through the day to fill their water bottles)

Hand sanitisers will be provided in each classroom. Students will be asked to use these upon entry to
each class

Entry and exit signs have been placed on all doors within the College to ensure one way movement.
Students are asked to follow these signs

Incursions – they will not be permitted until further notice

Please continue to adhere to social distancing and other requirements as appropriate. Please be
vigilant on Yard Duty including being mindful of social distancing and other requirements as
appropriate
Please follow the configuration room map for classrooms (ie tables and chairs appropriately spaced
within classrooms)

In addition to the reminders from last week, please see below:

- Students are reminded to bring their own headphones as required and as appropriate for use with
their laptop when needed

- We have reviewed our operations with respect to the start and end of the day to try and minimise
congestion. From Monday 15 June, 2020:

o At the start and end of the day, Year 7 to 9 students accessing and leaving the grounds using
Raphael Dve, are asked to use the gate nearest the Oval; Year 10 to 12 students, the gate
nearest the VCE Centre

o Furthermore, students in Years 7 to 9 are required to bring their bags with anything they
need from their locker each day to their Period 4 Class each day. Year 7 to 9 students will be
dismissed at 2:50pm each day.

o Families are asked to also use Lum Rd as a drop off and pick up point if choosing to drive
children to and from the school

All operational measures will continue to be reviewed on a regular basis with any changes to arrangements
communicated in a timely manner to families.

5. Remote Teaching and Learning, Survey Data – please see the link below for more information concerning
our Survey Data from our Remote Teaching and Learning Program; there are some outstanding results
here:

6. Formative vs Summative Assessments – please continue to use Formative Assessments as much as you
can with your teaching. Students are enjoying the feedback that comes from teaching staff with respect to
this sort of assessment.

7. OH&S – we are continuing to monitor OH&S issues eg weekly meetings to consider any OH&S issues.
Please continue to raise any issues or concerns with Tane Bragg and / or a member of the Executive
Leadership Team

8. Parent Teacher Student Conferences, Term 3? – our Conferences for Term Two were postponed due to the
current circumstances. Our Conferences may be held as early as next term if circumstances change – we
will keep you informed as best as we can.

9. Staff ‘Shout Outs’ (repeated from last week) – a new link is provided below in which we can all recognise
our colleagues:

Staff Shout Outs

10. Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), 2020 – eventhough the current circumstances provide a number of
challenges for school communities, the AIP for schools remains relevant.

The way we work within the key categories of the AIP might not have changed, however the way we
measure our progress has. For example, we can not use NAPLAN and other DET Survey Data (eg Student
Attitude to School Survey Data) like we have in the past to best measure progress.

As a result, we will need to try and find other ways of measuring our progress with possibly internal Surveys
being used to further measure areas such as Teacher Concern, Academic Emphasis and Teacher
Collaboration.

We will keep you informed of our approach.

11. Student Uniform – please be vigilant here. At the beginning of the day, Home Group Teachers are
expected to challenge students who are out of uniform. All staff are asked to be vigilant with respect to
student uniform, and to please pass on any concerns to the relevant Year Level Co-ordinator for follow up
as appropriate.

12. Staff Wellbeing Program, 2020 – our Staff Wellbeing Program commenced earlier in the week with great
success. Half of our staff were involved in the Program on Wednesday this week, with the other half of our
staff involved in the last week of term (23 6 2020). We thank Michelle Galea and Helen Charalambous for
their work here in leading and implementing this important Program.
13. Clickview – please see the latest videos available on Clickview – information here can be found on Whole
Staff.

14. P&D Plans – (repeated from last week) as mentioned previously, we have all been given an alternative
process to consider with respect to how we complete our P&D Plan in 2020.

The alternative is a far easier process than what we have been used to in the past. The alternative,
‘Statement of Expectation’, allows all of us to reflect on the tremendous work we have completed in these
challenging times that is Covid – 19.

I would recommend that colleagues complete their P&D Plans for 2020 using the ‘Statement of Expectation’
process. We are awaiting more information from DET in terms of how this process will work (eg proforma
to be used, etc). Elisa Baldwin will brief staff with any developments after the mid year break. In the
interim, please retain your existing P&D Plan for this year as a reference.

15. Whole Staff on Teams (repeated from last week) – please use it as much as possible to keep informed.
There are now Channels in which information is filed making it easier for us all to locate what we need.

Thanks everyone – have a great weekend

Regards

Aaron
