John’s Altar Society Meeting

August 18, 2020
CCD is scheduled to start September 9, 2020 with an opening mass. There have been
sanitizing products purchased for each room. Teachers for 4th and 5th grades are still needed.
Senior mass was held on May 3 and First Holy Communion was held on July 12.
There will be NO Bazaar this year due to Covid. Family letters will be mailed out soon with
more information.
A nomination committee needs to be assembled as the November meeting is when officers
are elected. There will be one vacancy on the Altar Society to be filled. If you would like to be
on the committee or would like to serve on the Altar Society please contact Patty.
There has been no breakfast served since March. A discussion was held as to whether or not
to resume serving breakfast. It was decided to continue with no breakfasts at this time.
A discussion was also held on resuming funeral luncheons. Several different ideas were
suggested on how to proceed with this safely. It was decided that more information needs to
be gathered before making a decision.
The creation of the Special Events Committee has been put on hold due to Covid.
Father Jim gave a presentation on symbols of the church and blessing of salt. It was full of
great and interesting information. No lunch was served due to Covid.
