Summer is sizzling in south Georgia with the heat index reaching well over 100 degrees and little

rain in sight for relief. It is a great time to stay indoors and feel kind of lazy from the heat. As so many people have said, the weather really zaps you. Let me offer you some cool relief from the heat that will not only keep you indoors but will also renew and refresh you. The offer is Sunday School and worship attendance. Look at all the benefits: Physically, you are not outdoors and can enjoy the comfort of climate control. Socially, you can fellowship with your closest friends with few, if any, gnats bothering you. Spiritually, you will be refreshed from the Word and worship of God. What a great offer. And, to make it even better, it will only cost you the effort of attending. You cant beat that! Seriously, attending Sunday School and church for the Christian should not happen because we are enticed to do so, or because we are obligated to do so. We should attend because we love the Lord and want to be with His people. There is a place for each one of us in the house of the Lord. I will look forward to seeing you in your place this Sunday. Paul Memory verse July 17Matthew 19:14 (NIV) Jesus said, Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

SAINTS ALIVE SING! The Saints Alive choir and special guests did a great job sharing special music with us last Sunday evening. Thanks to each of you for stepping up at the last minute and filling in when there was a cancellation. It really is fun to get together to sing for the Lord! WATERMELON FELLOWSHIP REPORT Our watermelon fellowship last Sunday night was a tremendous success. Everyone had more than enough and then some. Two Bainbridge Police Officers were grateful recipients of watermelons as they sat in our lot doing paperwork in their cruisers. They know FBC appreciates their service to our community! A big tip of the hat to Wes and Beth Briggs and to Jerry Jones of Climax for providing the sweet fruits for our fellowship. We couldnt have done it without them. SENIOR ADULT FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON We had a great group to ride together and also to meet up with us as we attended the Associations Quarterly luncheon last Monday. We sat at different tables and had the joy of meeting and fellowshipping with folks from about 10 churches from our area. In addition, we were escorted through the new worship and education building at First Baptist, Colquitt. It is a very beautiful facility and the choir rehearsal room made me look forward with anticipation to the time we can return to our newly renovated and upgraded Shell Annex. Next Associational meeting will be Monday, October 10 at Salem Seminole Baptist Church. Art

August 3 End of Summer Celebration YMCA Parents and children are all encouraged to attend this celebration. Everyone can bring their swim suits and enjoy some laps around the pool. We will be serving dinner that evening , so dont worry about feeding your children before they come. August 5 School Starts Back!! 2011 Operation Worship Bible Operation Worship Bible is sponsored by LifeWay and is aimed at getting our military men and women some very special Bibles while overseas. What makes these Bibles so special? The Bibles will be available in the church office (beginning Monday July 18) for someone to pick-up and write a short note of encouragement to those who will be receiving them. Children and adults alike are encouraged to write or draw a picture for them. Its amazing what a picture or a few words will mean to those who receive one of these Bibles. This was our mission project for VBS this year and we are following thru with this project with your help. I have purchased over 100 Bibles with the monies collected thru the VBS offering this year. Will you help us fulfill this mission by taking part in sending a note to say thank you for what you are doing and a prayer of protection for each and every one. Gods Servant, Bro Earl
