Thank you, First Baptist, for your participation in the Deacon selection process.

Thank you for your prayers and support of our Deacons. As we begin the new Church year in September, we will have the following serving as Deacon Officers: Deacon Chair Bo Jones Vice Chair Aric Aldridge Secretary Rick Ragan A special thank you to those out going officers, Eldon Eckard and Toby Roland and to Rick Ragan returning as secretary. In preparation for the new year, the Deacons will have a one day retreat on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Sunday, August 28 has been set aside for our Baby Dedication time. If you would like for your family to participate in this, please contact the church office. If you have a picture of your baby we may use that Sunday, please drop it by the church office. I always look forward to this special time of dedication for the baby and the parents. I have overheard some ask What is wrong with our church? CHOIRS OFF TO A GREAT START


Our graded choirs are off and learning. Its not too late to bring your child to the following locations: Tiny Tones (3 year olds) Preschool 3 yr. room Melody Makers (4 & 5s) Preschool 5 yr. room Music Makers (1-3rd grade) Education Bldg. E212 Young Musicians (4-5th grade) Choir Room Thanks to those who stepped up to help with our choirs. We are always grateful when parents assist with taking attendance, passing out books and being an encourager. Dads are welcome, too! Speak to your childs leaders and ask how you can help.

AWANA Ministry News The AWANA Ministry will resume this Sunday evening, August 21, at 5:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to AWANA and then go to our evening worship services. There is a place for all to learn and grow in their knowledge and understanding of Christ Jesus here at FBC.

Youth of the Week Madison Helms is the daughter of David and April Helms. She is a Junior at Bainbridge High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club, Anchor Club, and a section leader in the band. Madison loves drawing and horseback riding and is the newest member of our youth praise band, Martus. Youth Prayer Breakfast Youth Prayer Breakfast started back this week. This is for all middle school and high school students. Youth will meet at Bettys Cafeteria for breakfast and prayer (bring money!) and will then be taken to school. What a great way to start a Tuesday! Wednesday Night Youth Supper Meet in the basement for Youth Supper each week at 6:00 p.m. The cost for supper is $1.00, which includes a soft drink. This weeks menu is sub sandwiches provided by Team 3: Carla Smith, Kelley Harrell, Angie Presnal, Hildy Conder, Carla Nix.

FELLOWSHIP CLUB MEETING


The Fellowship Club will have another great program of inspiration at noon, Monday, September 12. Martha Stone of Hampton, GA will be our guest speaker with an exhibit of beautiful pins. She directs Angel Pin Ministry and will share how it is changing lives. Join us and bring a friend. QUITMAN TRIP TO JUBALS CONCERT. . .
Join us on the bus on Tuesday, Aug 23. No meal stops are planned, so eat early or bring a snack. Big bus departs at 4:45 PM. Call (246-1563) to sign up.

Preschool and Children Ministry Team Meeting We will meet this Sunday, August 21, at 4:30 p.m. in room 204 of the Educational Building. Everyone is encouraged to please be at this meeting. We will be planning the ministry events for the fall.
