Topic : Urban entertainment centre

Abstract :
The decline of inner-city manufacturing industries is a global
phenomenon, leaving behind vacant land and brownfield sites in cities.
These post-industrial areas with their negative images of dereliction and
obsolete urban environments have prompted many cities to implement
various redevelopment strategies, among which is the concept of the
Urban Entertainment Center (UEC), which combines shopping,
recreation, and entertainment, with various public spaces.
Urban entertainment centre (UEC) can be defined as family-oriented
entertainment destinations. These centres combine shopping and
recreation with entertainment to form an overall experience. Retails
needs entertainment to draw people in and entertainment needs retail to
support the overall operation.
The goal of a UEC for a city or developers is, perhaps, to create tax
revenue, or to sell food, or merchandise, but for the visitor the overriding
concept is to have fun. Entertainment is the draw and a large part of
what creates the unique experience of the centre. The retail, dining and
entertainment, play a role of drawing people to visit the center for get-
together or for leisure time to spend. Finally, the project emphasis on
designing a entertainment space for all the age groups at one place and
also to design a sustainable infrastructure for the region.
