For this assignment, I focused on second grade English Language Arts standard
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.2.7 - Use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print
or digital text to demonstrate understanding of its characters, setting, or plot. I thought this
standard is important because it requires students to identify “how” they are coming to
understand the story elements in the story. This concept is teaching students how illustrations
and words work together to develop a reader's understanding of the story elements. I decided
