Serology - Hepatitis
SPECIMEN : SERUM
TEST(s) RESULT(s) CUT- OFF VALUE
Anti HAV- lgM Non-Reactive Cutoff rate: 1.20
Patient Rate: 0.17
NOTE:
Test to be considered "Reactive" if patient rate is greater than cutoff rate, "Grey Zone Reactive" if it is in the range of 0.8 - 1.2 and
"Nonreactive" if it is less than 0.8.
COMMENTS:
Anti HAV-IgM is a chemiluminescent mictroparticle enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of IgM antibody to hepatitis A virus (Anti
HAV IgM) in human serum.
It is recommended that patients exhibiting grayzone reacitive results should have repeat test at approximately one week interval. This will
distinguish rising IgM anti-HAV levels associated with acute hepatitis A infection from decreasing or unchanging IgM anti-HAV levels often
associated with recovery.
METHOD:
Test is performed by chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) technique.
