Runway Orientation.
The location and orientation of runways is ruled in turn to avoid obstacles, particularly during landing
and takeoff procedures. Some large airports, obstacle in air navigation must be considered up to 15km
from the runways and runway configurations must also ensures that, 95 percent of the time, an aircraft
can approach the takeoff without crosswinds or tailwinds.
Runway Configuration.
1. Single Runway
-It is used as orientation to take advantage of the prevailing winds
2. Parallel Runway
3. Terminal Design
Pros and Cons-what do you think are the best practices in design for airports? what should you
avoid? what should you consider?
