Dear Parents,
THANK YOU all for your dedication and support
last week, we could not have done it without you! We truly
appreciate your time and feel confident that this week will be
even better. We are finally able to have all students online via
brick and mortar students to join virtual students in learning
together. If for any reason you have an issue signing on in the
mornings, please remember to email us so that we can take
attendance accordingly.
This week we will focus on reading and spelling
journals. We will model each example page for students
reference as well as demonstrate the examples on Google
meets. Please ensure your child is logged on in time to watch
these examples as they will be weekly routines from here on
out. Students will work on spelling lists from Spelling City as
an example. The only grades that will be taken this week will
be for participation and class work only. NO assessment or
project grades. Next week they will begin their weekly
spelling lists as well as vocabulary and comprehension quizzes.
***It is cold in the classroom in the mornings, please send a
Plato appropriate (red) jacket with your child.
This week’s plans:
Reading/ELA: Beginning of the year assessment (NO grade
will be given in the grade book), writing and phonics. Weekly
Story; The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig.
Math: Topic 1 Addition and Subtraction within 20.
Social Studies: Character traits continued, this week’s trait
is Honor.

Science: All About Rocks project. Students will be learning all things rocks and will be working
on a flap book project.

A Look Ahead:
Monday, September 7th is Labor Day and schools will be closed. The PTO board meeting will be
held on Thursday, September 10th at 6:30pm via Zoom. All board positions are up for voting,
please attend if you are interested in joining the PTO or in running for a chair on the board.
Mrs. Clark is currently serving as interim VP so if you have any questions you may email them

**Students will copy all definitions into their journals on Mondays. They should
have a copy of all words and definitions in their binders for studying at home.
Distant learners will need to follow along with journal entries and may keep the
extra set for reference.
