PRODUCT DESCRIPTION PRECAUTION

PHARMACODYNAMICS
Aluminum hydroxide and Magnesium hydroxide function as
antacids by neutralizing the excess acid made in the stomach.
They serve as bases (alkalis) that raise the gastric pH of the
stomach acid making it more neutral.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Aluminum Hydroxide + Magnesium Hydroxide (Antalox)
duration is dependent on gastric emptying time, during fasting
state it may take 20-60 minutes; 1 hour after meals; or up to 3
hours.
Most aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids are of
low risk during pregnancy.
INTERACTIONS
Drug Interactions: Acalabrutinib, Allopurinol, Amphetamines,
Ascorbic Acid, Atazanavir, Bisacodyl, Bismuth Subcitrate,
Bosutinib, Bromperidol, Calcium Channel Blocker, Captopril,
Cefuroxime, Chloroquine, Corticosteroids, Dabigatran
Etexilate, Ethambutol, Fexofenadine, Fosinopril, Gabapentin,
Hyoscyamine, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Levothyroxine,
Mesalamine, Methenamine, Methylphenidate, Misoprostol,
Mycophenolate, Potassium Phosphate, Quinidine, Quinine,
Quinolones, Rosuvastatin, Tetracyclines, Vitamin D Analogs
Food Interaction: Citrates or citric acids may significantly
increase serum aluminum concentrations, resulting in toxicity.
