Title: Identity and Confidence Date: August 18, 2020

Scripture: John 13:1 Speaker: Pastor Daniel Kim

Personal Reflection: I remember one of the lessons that was taught in Social Science about the Maslow’s Hierarchy of human needs. I realized that we
always find ourselves wanting more material things, and finding our identity on the things that we think is our worth. On the very top of the hierarchy is
self-actualization and it covers a very small portion. This is just how much we learn to value ourselves, that’s why I think having a sense of identity is
important, knowing your priorities, and purpose in life. We should also learn to love ourselves, not in the way the world tells us, but in the way that God
sees us. It was also discussed in the book of Song of Songs of how much God still chose us even if we do not deserve it. Having God as the center of our lives
will really act and see the world. I hope that these Remnants will not only identify themselves as “remnants” just because they are studying in thie school,
but because they hold firm to their calling in God. May they seek the things that matter most in life.
