Answer the following question and send the document on my email.

Nicolaus Copernicus

1. What is the contribution of Copernicus in the philosophy of science

Copernicus contribute huge ideas o mathematics and astronomy. He is a Renaissance man who
formulated a heliocentric model of the universe which placed the Sun, rather than the Earth, at the
center. He is generally considered to have commenced the Scientific Revolution.

2. Do you think thought experiment is still useful in science in the present time
When we perform a thought experiment, we learn, it would seem, by pure introspection. ‘Seem’
is perhaps the key word. Currently, science things take time, effort, and money. Authority would
not give those necessity to a scientist unless he has proven th significance of the study. For me,
thought experiment is still useful but not as useful as it used to e because people today believes
on what is mostly reliable and has proven any result beforehand.
3. Do you think that church should intervene in scientific activities?

I think churches should not intervene with scientific activities because they will only argue on things they
do not believe to have existed. As religious groups belive that origin of ma are Eve and Adam, as
scientists believe man has originated from apes. Both parties should respect each other's belief to avoid
conflict.

Charles Darwin

1. What is Darwin’s contribution to modern science?

Charles Darwin contributed an idea which tells how species commece and eventually go extinct. His well
known contribution is the theory of evolution by natural selection, first formulated in his book "On the
Origin of Species" in 1859,which tackles the process by which organisms change over time as a result of
changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. Changes that allow an organism to better adapt to its
environment will help it survive and have more offspring

2. How can Darwin’s evolutionary theory influence the following fields in modern times:
 Economy = Economy is a systematic realm of producers and consumer, sellers and
buyers, citizen and the market. It helps everyone to balance any resources we have. If
the theory of Darwin would not have existed, we would not know our full capability to
participate and run an economy.
 Agriculture= Agriculture requires knowledge of how a man should take care of his
plants. A man's capacity to maintain a healthy plant is almost from the idea of darwin's
theory about how, when, what, and where a specie should put himself so that he could
adapt to the environment. So, now man has the idea on where to put his crop and what
to do to keep it aliv and progressive.
 Political Science

Natural Selection has been helping the political science realm these past few decades. It allows the
generation to think that only fittest must survive, and politics must be fit to survive struggle and the
same goes with the constituents.

 Religion

Religion was the highly affected of this theory. It is exactly an opposition on what the
religious group believes. It has affected their credibility as well as the minds of their left
constituents.

Sigmund Freud

1. By looking for other sources and literatures, what are the controversies or questions on Freud’s
ideas?
His constructs Id Ego and Super ego never existed and were always hypothetical. He has been
convincing human that we are derived by pleasure but we have been driven by meaning. We do
things not for pleasure but because of consciousness as we are looking for meaning. His Oedipal
Complex has been a negative thing to believe in to. Experts are stil looking for evidences about
it. Personally, I think, a mother and his son could have developed intimate relationships in
toddler age because he has been in the care of his mother. That does not mean he has interests
on her.
2. How can you describe Freudian ideas as a scientist?
His ideas were theories, or hypotheses. They truly revolutionized how people thought about the
mind and consciousness, and had large impacts far outside the area of mental health. His
theories are hard to prove.

3. If Freud is still alive, what do you think are the major changes would make to his theory?

I think he woul be sensitive on the theories he conclud, and he would look at the mind of everyone in a
differen, sensitive but realistic view so that he could end up to an almost true theory.
