Crime in Cities  Title

Crime is a serious problem in big cities and it is

getting worse every year. This is what police
departments around the country said in their reports
last week. The subways and the streets are more Thesis
dangerous. You may not even be safe in your own
(announcement of issue

concern)
Why is the problem so serious now? This is not an
easy question to answer. There may not be a single
answer. Many problems together seem to make cities
so dangerous.

One of the problems is money. To fight crime a

city needs police officers, cars, and guns. These cost a
lot of money. But right now cities do not have much
extra money. So, there are not enough police officers,
cars and guns for the cities.

Another problem is drugs. Crime studies show that

many criminals use and sell drugs. After they start
taking drugs, they want to have more. However, drugs
are very expensive. So, these people may sell drugs to
other people to make money or they may steal money
to get more drugs.

There is an even more important cause of crime.

Critics have rich and poor neighborhoods. In the poor Arguments
neighborhoods, jobs are hard to find. Many young
people don’t have much hope for a better life. They ( Reason for concern,
only know one way to make a better living, that way is Leading to
to sell drugs or steal. So, some of these young people recommendation )
become criminals.
It is not going to be easy to change these crime Recommendation
problems. We must first change many of the laws
( Statement of what ought or
about drugs. We must change the way cities spend Ought not to happen )
their money. Until then, the crime problem will not go
away and we will live our live in fear.

SHOULD ADV BE BANNED PROM TELEVISION?

There are adv during our favorite programs. We think they should be stopped for a number reasons.

First, adv are anuisance . They go for a long time and they are so many. Sometimes there seems more adv
than programs.

Second, adv are bad influence for people. They try to encourage people to buy something that is advertised
even though the people need not it.

Finally, the people who make adv want to put their adv in the popular program so some programs are not so
popular get stopped because they do not attract enough adv.

We think your TV should stop showing adv. They are bad influence on people, and they are
sometimes put a stop to people’s favorite show.

Government should not raise the fuel price to solve the problem economic issues.
People were affected severely with the high fuel price hike last year. Obviously they cut their
spending. As an example, they had to buy lower quality of rice or palm oil. There were also
fewer buyers of secondary commodities like flour, or canned meat or fish.
Furthermore, the condition of low income family will become even worse because their
expenses will increase while their salaries will not. Many companies will have to trim the number
of employees because they are incapable of managing buying or selling price, standard wages
and personal affairs.
Finally, government should not raise fuel price to overcome economic solution but the
solution should be sought by tapping into nation’s own potential and utilizing it to enhance
productivity to its maximum.

Nowadays the situation in the bus station is not safe anymore. Last week I heard a lady crying because
her purse was lost there. Then yesterday I saw an old man report something to police because his bag was
stolen when looking aside.
I feel that the crime in the station is more increasing. Many passengers are often forced by passengers
recruiters to geton the certain bus.
Besides that, those who sell food and drink around the area also often disturb the safety of passengers.
The vendors sometimes force the passengers to buy their merchandise.

I feel that a number of security guards should be added to watch and take action against both the naughty
passengers recruiters and vendors in order that the passengers feel safe, calm and quiet.

Tourism Benefit on Local People

What is the benefit of tourism for local people? Well, Tourism is now a huge contributor to the
economies of most countries. Tourism industries can bring money, job vacancy and
advancement especially to developing regions. However, this money often goes into the
pockets of foreign investors, and only rarely benefits for local people.

Tourism industries will not give much benefit for local people if, for example, multinational hotel
chains don’t care about the surrounding nature when they build new hotels. This can cause
many social, cultural and geographical problems. Some local people may get job and money
from that International hotel chain. However in case of missing that opportunity, some of them
still have their own environment.

Moreover, some facts show that tourists tend to go, visit and spend their money in restaurants,
bars and even luxury hotels of that multinational chains. They less go to such places;
restaurant, bar, hotel, shop which are owned by local people. This can prevent the local
people’s business from becoming even larger.

Most important thing, tours or excursions of tourism have little effect on nature. Even it can
disrupt or destroy ecosystems and environments, and if it does, the local people will get the risk.

So the local government policies should be put in place to ensure that tourism will make the
benefit spreading widely. The policies should guarantee that tourism will not cause any harm to
any local people or places.

Faster planes and cheaper flights are making it easier than ever before for people to travel. In
the most ‘developed’ societies, visiting exotic places is a sought-after status symbol. The
tourism industries of both developed and developing countries have recognized this fact and are
learning to take advantage of it.
There are, however, some problems associated with this new industry. Firstly, there is the
increasing crime rate. Some local tourists might be an easy prey because, not only are they in
unfamiliar territory and therefore less able to take care of themselves, but also they carry visible
items of wealth, such as cameras and jewelry which can be disposed of quickly for profit.
Another major problem is health. With greater mobility comes greater danger of spreading
contagious diseases around the world. One carrier returning home could easily start an
epidemic before their illness was diagnosed. Moreover, the emergence of many diseases which
resist antibiotics is causing scientists to be increasingly concerned about this issue.
Also to be considered is the natural environment, which can be seriously threatened by too
many visitors. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, for example, is in danger of being destroyed by
tourists and there are plans to restrict visitors to some of the more delicate coral cays.
These are just three of the reasons why any country should be wary of committing itself to an
extensive tourism development program.

Never Try Smoking

1. A lot of people, especially teenagers, who do not smoke, always want to try smoking.

They know it is bad for them and all, but it is just something they want to try. So they ask

one of their smoker friends for a cigarette. Admittedly, they firstly can not light it on their own

so they ask his friend to do it. Then they inhale that cigarette and smoke occasionally.

2. Apparently that makes them the born smokers. Now they do smoke fairly regularly. They

can not avoid smoking and they enjoy too. They have smoker friends. Everyday they bring a

pack in their pocket. For them, a pack of cigarette is as important as a wallet for their

money.

3. Suddenly, for certain reason, they realize the fact that tobacco is the cause of a long list

of nasty diseases. It is not only heart disease, stroke, and chronic lung disease but also

bladder, lung, and pancreatic cancer. Even it was reported that around 400,000 Americans

died each year. It was one every 80 seconds from tobacco-related illnesses.
4. Then they decide it is stupid to harm selves. They want to quit smoking. Unfortunately,

they find that quitting smoking is so difficult. “Why can’t I stop smoking? I really want to stop

it”. It is hard to quit because nicotine is powerfully addictive. Cigarette is one of the most

efficient drug-delivery devices ever devised. As result, when people try to quit smoking, they

often experience classic nicotine withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, irritability,

headache, depression, and restlessness.

5. Well, still want to try smoke? Think the facts before trying! If you are not smoker,

you should never and never try to smoke.

GOOD LUCK
