1 Codes and Standards

The EPC Contractor shall ensure that the engineering, design, construction, testing, etc. of all
systems and equipment of desalination plant including all auxiliary facilities and systems, are
according to internationally recognized standards and codes in their latest edition. Specific
standards or codes will be referenced as required in the relevant sections of the technical
specifications. In case of conflict among this and Local Government rules, and manufacturers
standard practices, the Owner shall determine which will govern.

The EPC Contractor shall supply the Owner with a copy of each standard used. Where the
original language of the standard or code is not English, the Contractor shall supply the Owner
with an official English translation, approved by the issuing authority, of the standard or code.
In all cases, the English translation shall take precedence over the original language version.
