SELF REFLECTION

What makes a good teacher great? According to the article that I have read, a great teacher forms
a strong relationship with their students and show that they care about them as people. For me as I
remember my favorite teacher, her characteristics and abilities really show that she is a great teacher.

They say that teaching is one of the most complicated jobs. It requires broad knowledge of the
subject matter, enthusiasm, a good attitude, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Today as I practice my profession as a teacher, I can say that I’m still far from becoming what we called
“great teacher” or becoming to be like my favorite teacher. On the other hand, for me to become like my
favorite teacher; I need to be the teacher who I want to have way back when I was still a student. A
teacher who understand their students and never give up on them. A teacher who builds a strong
relationship to their students and who is never tired to motivate them because I also believe that students
will learn more if they like and love their teacher.

My journey as a teacher is like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes I also feel tired of motivating and
showing care to students especially the tough once. But at the end of the day, it is natural to us teachers
that even we don’t like our students there is a part in our hearts that really cares about them.
