USERS

 Ratio of licensed librarians and other personnel; 1000 (students, faculty and staff) : (1) full time
licensed librarian and (1) full time library assistant. Note: For every 3000 additional, add 1 and 2
full time library assistants/support staff

PHYSICAL FACILITIES

 Considerations: (1) It shall have adequate appropriate and reading facilities accessible by
students, faculty and other users, (2)Accessible to any point of activity in the campus where
occupying a part of the building. (3) Allow future re-arrangement and expansion.
 Reading room: 1 seat : 5% of student population
 Proper lighting and ventilation in all areas
 Work area for staff
 Storage room
 Head Librarian’s office
 Areas for special services such as the electronic and audiovisual programs
 Appropriate and functional furniture
 Facilities for PWDs (Ramps, railings, comfort rooms, etc.)
 Emergency exits
 Fire extinguishers,
 built-in emergency lights
 Other measures necessary by NBCP
