LINKING WORDS

To indicate more information:

Besides (used for making an extra comment that adds to what you have just said)

e.g. I don't really want to go. Besides, it's too late now.

Furthermore ADVERB (formal, in addition to what has just been stated. Furthermore is used
especially to add a point to an argument)

e.g. He said he had not discussed the matter with her. Furthermore, he had not even contacted her.

In addition (used when you want to mention another person or thing after something else )

e.g. There is, in addition, one further point to make.

In addition to + noun PREPOSITION

On top of that (informal, in addition to something )

e.g. She borrowed my bike and never gave it back. And of top of that, she broke the lawnmower

and then pretended she hadn't.

Moreover (very formal, used to introduce some new information that adds to or supports what you
have said previously )

e.g. A talented artist, he was, moreover, a writer of some note.
