DATE: 1/28/2020 SUBJECT: AUTOMOTIVE SERVICING NCII

TIME: 8:30 – 9:30 am GRADE: 11-Earth

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the student is expected to:

1. Name the of Accessories of the lighting system.
2. Label and explain each part of a Accessories of the lighting system..
3. Value the importance of determining the proper function of each part of a Accessories of the
lighting system..

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a. Topic: Parts of a accessories

b. Reference/s: Automotive Module and TG, Internet
c. Materials: Monitor, Laptop, Hand-outs, Spare Parts
d. Integration
 SCIENCE (Electrical to Mechanical Energy)

III. PROCEDURE

Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

A. Preparation
a. Review
(prayer)
(greetings)
(announcing of classroom rules)
(checking of attendance)
(Icebreaker)

Before we proceed to our new lesson for today, let’s have “Yesterday, we discussed about the other parts
first a review about our lesson last meeting. What did we of an engine.”
discuss last meeting?

Thank you _____. Now, who can give me one part of an “Piston, cylinder head, crankshaft, camshaft,
engine? cylinder block”

B. Motivation
*Unlocking of difficulties

Direction: Arrange the scrambled letters to form the correct

word.

1. CONTROLLER
2. CIRCUIT
3. PATHWAY
4. CRANK
5. SWITCH

Okay class let us now watch a short clip, please observe

properly.

*Motivational Question

What is the video all about? “The video shows a person that is having
trouble in starting his car.”

Which part of the vehicle do you think is not working “Perhaps it’s the starting system sir.”
properly?

Very good. So today we are going to discuss the parts of a

starting system. Objectives:

But before that, let us read our objectives. Please read 1. Name the parts of a starting
_____. system.
2. Label and explain each part of a
starting system.
3. Value the importance of
determining the proper function
of each part of a starting
system.

C. Presentation

So be with me this morning as I’ll discuss to you the

Different parts of a starting system and its function.

Everybody read!
“Parts of a Starting System”
As you have seen in the video the person is having trouble
starting the vehicle. Hence, It is important to be familiar
with the different parts of a starting system and how its
function to be able to troubleshoot minor problems
involving the starting system.

*Discussion

There are 8 main parts of a starting system, these are the

following:

• Battery- Provides the current to turn the starter

motor.
• Ignition Switch- is a switch in the control system
of a motor vehicle that activates the main electrical
systems for the vehicle.
• Solenoid- converts electric current to mechanical
action. (Integration to Science)
• Starter Motor- Engages Pinion gear to ring gear
( Mounted on flywheel, or torque Converter )
• Fuse- Protect the circuit to Destroy the Switches.
• Relay- Uses small Amount of current to Control
Large amount of current
• Cable/Wire- serves as runway or pathway of the
current.
• Flywheel- designed to efficiently store rotational
energy

E. Application

Group Activity.

Now, I’ll group the class into 4 groups.

Please read the direction.

Direction: Place the proper label of the parts given to your

group and discuss each part given.
After 10 minutes, present your output to the class.

E. Generalization (Student will do as told)

Based on our discussion, what are the parts of a starting

system?

Why do you think it is important to understand the parts

and functions of a starting system? “The parts of a starting system are Battery,
Ignition Switch, Solenoid
Starter Motor, Fuse, Relay”

Very good. “To be able to know how to start the engine

and perform minor troubleshooting of the
starting system.”
Now, do you have any questions or clarifications regarding
our lesson?

Okay if none then let us have a short quiz.

“No sir.”

IV. EVALUATION

Direction: Read and answer carefully the following question. Write your answer on the space provided
before each number.

_____1. It refers as the controller of small amount of current to large amount of current.

a. Starter b. Switch c. Relay

_____2. Which component of starter system that protect the circuit to destroy the switches?

a. Battery b. Fuse c. Starter

_____3. Which component of Starter System that serves as runway or pathway of the current?

a. Battery b. Cable/wire c. Starter

_____4. It provides the current to turn the starter motor.

a. Battery b. Fuse c. Starter

______5. What is the function of the ignition switch?

a. To supply the circuit go to the battery

b. To supply the circuit go to the Cable/wire

c. Activates the main electrical systems for the vehicle.

V. Agreement

Direction: List the Basic parts of Starter motor.
