Phonology is branch of linguistics which studies the sound system of languages,

their internal structure, and their composition into syllables, words and phrases.

Phonology tells us what sounds are in a language, how they do and can combine
into words, and explains why certain phonetic features are important to identifying a
word, phonology also describes the way sounds function within a given language
to convey meaning. whereas, Phonetics is about the physical properties of human
speech, such as how basic sounds are physically produced, their acoustics, and how
they are perceived.
