Levels of Technology Integration:

☒ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This activity will be universal because the teacher is able to adjust
each students lesson when it is their turn. This activity will first be done as a class and then in small groups
using technology and the teacher’s assistant.

Lesson idea implementation: Large group-To introduce this lesson the teacher will read a book on sorting
and then have a class discussion on sorting and what was understood from the reading. Next the teacher will
further explain will using manipulatives so that the students can stay engaged and practice along while the

teacher is giving different examples to be used. The teacher will use manipulatives such as bears that are
different colors and shapes, or small shapes, using different shapes colors and sizes to help go in depth with
how things can be sorted in different ways. The teacher will then allow the students to sort their
manipulatives on their own while walking around to assist where there Is a need paying attention to the ones
needing help.
Small groups- There will be 3 small groups one groups works independently on the computer working on
sorting as a group taking turns. Students who needed more assistance would work with one of the teachers.
Teacher group one will be working on sorting different items in different jars and group 2 would be working
on manipulatives used earlier(this group really had a difficult time).
Centers-The teacher will then use different attributes about the student’s clothes etc to dismiss them to
centers. During center time the computer will be setup and available for students to work on khan academy
to further their understanding of sorting.

Reflective Practice: I believe that this activity will help introduce students to sorting things in many ways
such as, shapes, sizes, and colors. Students should be able to gather items in groups depending on their
attributes.
