Description :
Aetna is a national leader of health and related benefits offering health insurance,
pharmacy, dental, life, products for individuals, medicare insurance.The project is to develop
installation packages using Windows Installer 3.0. The packages are done in the MSI format.   The
Microsoft Windows Installer technology helps the clients to have consistent and reliable installation of
the software applications.

Roles:
 Used VM Ware for Packaging & Testing the application.
 Doing the Source review for submission requests using tools like InstallRite 2.5.
 Repackaging and customizing the applications as per the organizational requirement in
Windows Installer format using Wise Package Studio 7.0.
 Customizing MSI & MST as per client standards.
 Analyzing legacy setups and repackaging them to create Windows Installer packages.
 Use VB scripting and Wise Scripting as and when required in the packaging process.
 Resolving of Validation errors (ICE errors).

Description :
State Farm Insurance is a group of insurance and financial services companies in the

United States. The company also has operations in Canada ..The project not only required technical
skills but also good communication skills as the business involved different countries around the
globe. The project also involves creation of a deployable exe from the msi.

Roles:

 Doing review of the provided source and getting back to the requestor for any clarification .
 Customizing applications according to client request and standards.
 Packaging and repackaging the application as per client requirement.
 Creating packages depending upon the source provided. The packaging process here is quite
different; client requires two different packages for MACHINE DATA and USER DATA to match
their deployment methods.
 If the source is already an MSI or if the source extracts an MSI in the system after execution
then the vendor MSI (will be now Machine MSI) is left unchanged only the standards will be
applied through MST and the runtime entries will be added accordingly to the MST or a new
USER MSI will be created
 Customizing the application as per the client requirements
 Using VB scripting and Wise Scripting as and when required in the packaging process.
 Checking the package for the quality as per the QA standards specified by the client.
