CEVICHE
 People in Peru celebrate the “Dia del
Ceviche” on 28th June. Ceviche is a typical
dish of the Peruvian food, its history comes
back to Moche culture this dish has main
ingredients: fish, lemon, onion, chili and
salt.

 Its preparation is simple, but not very prominent. Fish


or shellfish meat, macerated with lemon, coriander
(aromatic herb), hot pepper, chili pepper and garlic
(different ingredients can be added); let it rest and
then mix with onion to serve it together with pieces of
sweet potato, corn kernels and lettuce.
 During this day, Peruvian restaurants offer ceviche as
a special dish. In many areas of the Peruvian capital,
it is offered this food. The Peruvian Ceviche is
considered as one of the most delicious meal to
worldwide.

 In 2008, the Ministry of Production officially


designated June 28 as 'Dia del Ceviche'. This has
been chosen as a traditional Peruvian food, in
addition to being recognized for its great nutritional
value and properties.
