Good morning / good evening everyone.

Today on this auspicious occasion of teacher’s day, I am very glad to find all my teachers to be here. A
huge love and respect to all of you. Now we are celebrating teacher’s day on 5th September because to
respect our teacher’s and remember them how important they are to us. Our parents give us birth and
stand us in the track and the teachers are who teaches us to run on that track with right directions. They
labour us to teach well and well, they try their best to give us knowledge. The teachers serve the whole
country in a good way by teaching the students, who are the future of tomorrow. And the teachers are
who makes the future of the students bright. We can never forget their gift to us. Actually the
celebration of teacher’s day on 5th September started first in 1962, on the auspicious occasion of
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan birthday. He was a great teacher and president of India. The celebration
started because when he became president of India, some of his student and friend requested him to
allow them to celebrate his birthday on 5th September. He replied, “instead of celebrating my birthday
it would be a proud privilege if September 5th is observed as teacher’s day”.
