Water Meter

A Water Meter is a mechanical device to measure the flow rate of a water pump.
[The Water meter comprises a rotor with helical blades inserted axially in the flow, much like a ducted fan; it can be
considered a type of turbine water meter. They are commonly referred to as helix meters, and are popular at larger sizes.]

This installation guide is intended for

experienced and trained personnel
only.

Changing the measuring insert is only

Attention allowed for authorized personnel!
Damaging the seal or sticker will
immediately void the warranty.

Installation instructions

• The water meter can be installed in any position • The flow meter must always be filled full
with the direction of the flow as indicated by with water
the arrow cast in the meter body with the
register face upwards • The flow meter must be protected against
pressure shocks in the pipe
• Thoroughly flush the pipes before
installing the meter • The pipe pressure and water temperature
must not exceed the values shown on the
• It is important that you observe the required type plate
calming section (see below)
• All flow control components (e.g. valves)
• If the water is soiled, fit a strainer in the should be installed after the flow meter
pipe before the meter

• Install the water meter in a frost proof position at

the lowest possible point of the installation
to avoid air accumulating Working conditions

• The water meter must be installed in the Water temperature: 0 … 40°C

pipe without mechanical stress (from bended Water pressure: up to 16 bar
or twisted connection pipes, etc.)

• Flange seals must not protrude into the

pipe

• On completion of installation, fill the pipe

slowly to prevent pressure shocks damaging
the measuring insert

Calming sections

The water meter must have 10 nominal diameters straight pipe ahead of the meter and 5 nominal
diameters straight pipe after to insure a correct flow measurement.

the deviation is between -2% and +2%.

Special Version (with reed switch pulser)

- It is a turbine Removable Element water meter for industrial and irrigation application in size
40mm to 150mm for cold meter

- The special version WP-40 ~ 150 water meter is equipped with a reed switch assembly which
can be connected to remote reading systems after breaking the meter seal.

- The reed switch pulser sends out electrical signals per a preset water quantity requiring
power from an external source

Working Conditions

Working conditions, dimensions and technical data are the same as the common water meter

Electric Data

Data Output Option

- The special meter comes in two model variations, which indicate different pulse rates
