The latest report of KMPG Survey of Corporate Responsibility was from 2017.

Since 1993,
KMPG have continuously been observing and improving themselves in the field of CR and
sustainability. Based on the report from 2017, the percentage of the N100 companies
(worldwide sample of 4,900 companies comprising the top 100 companies by revenue in each
of the 49 countries researched in this study) have risen up to 2%, 72% in 2015 to 75% in 2017.

In its 10th edition, here are the survey highlights from 2017:
The four (4) major emerging trends within the CR reporting:

 Reporting on the financial risks associated with climate change

Based on the video presented by KMPG in its 2017 Report, it explains how climate
change is a financial threat to business companies. Companies that are less likely to use low-
carbon emission can decrease its advantage to other existing competitors. About 72% (three
quarters) of N100 companies and 52% of G250 companies do not acknowledge the financial
risks associated with climate change.

 Reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Based from the annual reports, SDGs have created a strong influence over the course of
2 years since their implementation. They are important because they hold a powerful advocacy
of ensuring a safe and prosper environment for all. By this time, a lot of companies are already
performing corporate responsibility in their business activities. For G250 companies, 43% and
39% from N100 companies.

 Reporting of corporate human rights performance

The 2017 report now acknowledges human rights as a global issue wherein 73% of N100 and
90% of G250 companies. Although statistics show a high number of increases, companies still
believe that there is still room for improvement.

 Reporting on science-based carbon reduction targets

A majority of reports from G250 companies now disclose targets to cut their carbon emissions:
the percentage in 2015 stands at 58% up to at 67% in 2017.

In conclusion, KMPG has drastically been implementing and valuing corporate responsibility
and sustainability into their business activities. Although it is not necessarily required to have
one, companies see it as away to maintain stakeholder management and a competitive
advantage against its other competitors. KMPG aims to progress and still continuously grow for
the benefit of all.
