Expert Profile:
Dr. Satish Ailawadi, Director-SIMSR, is a Graduate in Chemical Engineering from University
of Roorkee, now known as IIT, Roorkee and MBA from University of Poona and Ph.D in R&D
Management from Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur. Dr. Ailawadi has worked in
the areas of Sales Administration, Product Management, International Trade, Vendor
Development, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management and General Management
for 27 years in reputed business organizations such as Mitsubishi Corporation, NELCO,
NIRLON, and Bombay Dyeing & Mfg. Co. Ltd. He joined K.J. Somaiya Institute of
Management Studies & Research in the year 2008 as Professor & HoD-Operations
Management and took over as a Director of the Institute with effect from April, 2011. His
major area of research has been in Supply Chain Management and Total Quality
Management. He has authored books on ‘Logistics Management’ and ‘Entrepreneurship’
which are referred to as text books in various management programs.

Dr. J S Lamba is a Masters in Logistics Management from Madras University followed by


Fellowship from The National Institute of Industrial Engineering,(NITIE) Mumbai. Prior to
joining SIMSR he worked in senior position with Tata Consultancy Services and Baan
India. He has conducted various training programs and consulting assignments in Operations
Management, Supply Chain Management and ERP for industry spanning different verticals.
He has also undertaken consultancy assignments in the areas of Industrial engineering such
as production norms and productivity improvement, process optimisation and Supply Chain
Management. Some of the Industry clients where Dr. Lamba offered consulting/ training are
Reserve Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of India, AFCONS India, Tata Motors,
Holcim Asia Pacific etc.

Mr. Kiran Kambhampati has been with BMGI India for over 11 years prior to which he has a
couple of years of experience in IT and Telecom industries.
As part of his role as a Senior Consultant, he has worked with clients to help them develop
and deploy various Performance Excellence methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Business
Process Management, Innovation and the Balanced Scorecard. Kiran has trained and
consulted clients from a wide variety of industries including Banking, FMCG, Healthcare,
Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Financial Services, Airlines, Telecom, ITES and
Hospitality, to name a few. He has an MBA (Marketing) from NMIMS, and a B.E.
(Electronics) from the University of Mumbai. He is a certified Master Black Belt,
certified Lean Master and certified Innovation Master at BMGI.
