Programme Director & Professor,
Operations Management

Prof. Bodhibrata Nag has a PhD in Operations Research and System Analysis from
IIM Calcutta. He has over two decades of transportation and energy industry
experience and more than a decade of teaching and research experience at IIM
Calcutta. His research interests include applications of operations research in
logistics, transportation, energy, and public sector management. He holds
certifications in operations management and data sciences from The World Bank,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Georgia Institute of Technology, and
others. He has authored two books, besides having his work published in leading
peer-reviewed national and international journals and conference proceedings. He
has been a visiting Professor at the University of Michigan and BNSF Railway on
Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowship.

Prof. Megha Sharma

Programme Director & Associate Professor
Operations Management

Prof. Megha Sharma has a PhD from IIM Ahmedabad. A process improvement
and sustainability enthusiast, she has more than ten years of experience in
teaching, executive training, business consulting and research. Her areas of
interest include Business Process Improvement, Project Management, Statistics
for Data Analytics and Supply Chain Network Design. Her research work has been
published in several leading national and international journals. Prof. Sharma has
been actively involved in academia-industry interaction through executive
training, programme design and delivery, and consulting. She has led and taught
in several executive training programmes targeted at professionals at different
career levels, including senior managers, CXOs, and bureaucrats.

Real-world Case Studies
Plaza, the Logistics Park of Zaragoza by Watson, Noel H., and
Santiago Kraiselburd
This case illustrates the motivating drivers, the reasoning used
in deciding the feasibility of the park's location, and the
advantages (and disadvantages) of a project to develop a large-
scale logistics park on the outskirts of Zaragoza. The insights
are meant to assist PLAZA management in understanding
which types of customers to target and how to address the
issues that could hinder the park's projected growth.

Exel PLC, Supply Chain Management at Haus Mart by

Zeynep Ton and Steven C. Wheelwright

This case describes the range of activities Exel plc, a global

third-party logistics provider, is now considering providing
supply chain planning services instead of traditionally offering
freight management and contract logistics services. However,
there are risks involved in entering a new business. Through
this case, participants will understand the decision in the
context of Exel's two-decade relationship with Haus Mart, a
leading retailer of home textiles, housewares, and home
accessories in Germany.

ELIGIBILITY EVALUATION
Graduates (10+2+3 or equivalent)/ Diploma Holders (10 There will be periodic evaluations built-in
+2+3)/ Post Graduates in any discipline with minimum throughout the duration of the programme.
50% marks aggregate and having minimum 3 years of These may be in the form of written tests,

 Programme Certificate
Participants will be awarded a completion certificate and the IIM Calcutta Executive Education Alumni Status
on successfully completing all evaluation components and having a minimum attendance of 66% in each
module. Attending both campus visits is a mandatory requirement for successfully completing the
