MODULE 2: VISION, MISSION, AND VALUES

Instructions:
In this module, you learned about the importance of carefully crafted vision, mission, and values
statements. Now it is your turn to try this out. In the spaces below, write your venture’s
statements. Remember, even though vision, mission, and values statements are typically short,
each word should be thoughtfully chosen. Your responses will be assessed by your peers on
their clarity and on how well they follow the advice in the readings and podcasts.

1. Vision
In one sentence, clearly describe the world that your venture seeks to create.
Example: We envision a future where all children have the nutrition they need to grow
into strong, healthy adults.

We envision a future that all children in Malaysia can learn and thrive in an environment
that is safe and friendly regardless of race, language or religion.

2. Mission
How will your organization create the world that you envision? Write your mission
statement in 1-3 sentences. Remember: good mission statements are memorable,
manageable, measurable, and motivational.
Example: Our mission is to eliminate the symptoms of childhood malnutrition for 2 million
children by 2025 by distributing nutritional food to families with infants.

Our mission is to help reduce bullying rate in Malaysia by 25% by 2030 by partnering
with organizations, societies and agencies.

3. Core Values
How would you like your team to behave and make decisions? List at least four core
values that you believe will guide your team’s behavior.
Example: “Always listen to the beneficiary”

Core Value 1: Complete a task in a manageable order.

Core Value 2: Focus on the main objective of a task thoroughly.
