Horse Helpers

Domestic animals aren’t only amazing pets, but they are also skilled helpers. You may have seen dogs
guiding people who can’t see. But did you know miniature horses could be guides?

Miniature horses make great guides because they aren’t afraid of crowds. They stay very calm and are always
on the lookout for danger. This makes them good at helping people to avoid unsafe situations.
There are many reasons why some blind people prefer horses to dogs. Horses fill a need for blind people who
are allergic to dogs. Horses live longer than dogs, so people can have a longer relationship with a guide horse.
Unlike dogs, horses don’t need a lot of interaction with humans. This means they can focus on their job and
aren’t distracted.
