I did my practicum with the Coastal Carolina Athletic Digital Team, when working with
them I worked the game camera at Baseball games. By only doing ten hours out of the 60 hour
practicum I didn’t gain as much knowledge and experience that I should have. From the ten
hours I did complete I identified four skills that are very important to have in the RSM field.
First, you need to have good communication skills. This is an important skill to have in any job
but, it was especially important in my case. When working new fancy cameras I didn’t really
know what was going on so it was very important to speak up and ask questions. Second is
teamwork, when working with this agency I worked with all students from the university. Putting
together a broadcast show is very hard to just do by yourself so you need to work as a team to

important in my agency because we always had new people coming in. I wasn’t there for long
but I knew some things, so if the new workers needed help with something I would step in and
help them out. Lastly is ethical responsibility. This is important in every job you will ever have
but it very important when working with this agency. Because I was working for athletics I was
mostly working with adults. In that case you always needed to be your best self and hold yourself
to high standards.
By learning these skills and implementing them will be a great help for my future
jobs/career. As I said in the above paragraph the top two skills that are the most important are
communication and ethical responsibility. By already having practice with working around
people that are older than me I feel like it gives me a bigger advantage and look into what a real
