Dear Mrs Contadino,

Regarding your outpatient’s appointment on 2nd February at 10.15.

Below are instructions to get to the Department of Coronary Care. Park in the hospital car
park which is at the front of the hospital. Go to the main entrance and then go straight in
the corridor past the departements of obstetrics and ear nose & throats. In the end of the
corridor, you should turn left until you see departement of coronary care. It’s in your left
side.

• Apply ice to the bruise to reduce swelling.
• Raise the bruised area so that it is higher than the heart. This reduces internal bleeding.

heart.
 clean the wound under drinking-quality running tap water
 avoid using antiseptic as it may damage the skin and slow healing
 pat the area dry with a clean towel
 apply a sterile adhesive dressing, such as a plaster
 Go to your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department as soon as possible if the
bleeding doesn’t stop
